STILL LIFE WITH DARLYN

Image
Darlyn, as young as she is, seems to have her own agenda for life. She does not need to do what everyone else is doing and she is very confident and comfortable   in her skin.  Mama  Mia is very much like that too but Darlyn does not get into mischief  like Mia does. Darlyn knows how to speak to me- knowing I am a cranky old girl. She know when to just relax and stay still. She also knows how to bond with Raven who did not even want be near Darlyn in the beginning. As Darlyn grows, she becomes more and more like me...... May your days be filled with peace my friends....

COMFORT

Image
In the light of the morning sun and the warmth of the fire, I find comfort in my comfy bed.I am not alone. It is in the quiet of the morning that we find the most comfort. There is comfort in the grass when we are having our favourite chewing bones..... There is comfort in a nap upon the loveseat by the fire. Or on the lap of your favourite person on a sofa that needs to be a bit bigger. Where is your comfort. May your days be filled with peace my friends...

THE SECOND WINTER

Image
It is cold outside.  Not just cold- but frigid cold! The chickens don't know what happened and all I want to do is sleep by the fire. Ari fees the same way too. We are all hiding inside, away from the cold. Most of us know this won't last, so we bide our time with Winter activities until Spring can reappear. May your days be filled with peace my friends....

THE COLD SPRING SNOW

Image
We were not expecting it at all. This morning we woke up to howling snow and wind and even though it was not like Spring, we waited for our walkies. But it was the warmth of being inside that really made us happy.  We napped in all the regular places to nap throughout the house. Izzy was all set to be happy for the warm weather so she could go swimming....but. We watched and waited as the wind whipped the snow all around the back garden. THen we decided to nap again. Or join Mother in her tiny bathroom to see what she had to say about the Spring snow. I suppose we will just have to wait for warmer weather. May your days be filled with peace my friends...

THE LONG AGO VISIT

Image
The morning started out sleepy and not very eventful. Father took me for walkies before going out to work. But  then Mother had a visitor. She said it was a student from a long time ago. We did not care how long ago. Auntie Shannon came to fuss us- and fuss us she did!   They talked and talked and talked. Long ago must have been full of adventures!  I listened patiently whilst sucking on my toy Ari found a new friend and hugged Auntie Shannon over and over again. She was so thankful for all the fusses. And when Auntie went home, we resumed our day of napping. May your days be filled with peace my friends...
