Mornings With Moula

 Snowy is our Easter Egger chicken, She is snowy white and quite friendly to all of us. But she likes to sneak out of the gate of her pen  when Father is not paying attention. Usually Mother finds her and brings her back to the pen. But not this time.... We all knew she was out and about but Mother did not. We watched her sneak out of the back garden too. It wasn't until it was nearly dark that Mother found out she was missing. Father went out into the darkness to search for her and Mother was very worried. She was nowhere to be found. We tried to make Mother feel better by playing nicely with each other and just being quiet and snuggly. . In the morning, in the freezing rain, Father went out in search of Snowy. She was n the bushes near Auntie Kathy and Uncle Mike's house. Father had to get Uncle Bob to come help catch her and bring her safely home. She was very lucky to be alive. Every body wanted to go out and see Snowy's return and of course- Uncle Bob... And after all

 Right  after dinner last night, we were al asleep in the bedroom when we heard a very excited Nera run into the house. She did not even look back at her father to say good-bye! After a lot of barking and growling "you are not in charge here", we all settled down together to chat and catch up. Nera was so excited to be with all of her family again- oh and Mother and Father too. Raven was just a tiny puppy the last time Nera was here and they bonded almost immediately. We were so worn out from playing and chasing that we really needed to nap. And of course Nera started taking all of the toys out of the basket for Mother to pick up again. Mother says Nera will be here for a long time. We really don't mind, and I think Nera does not mind at all. May your days be filled with peace my friends...

There is something happening that I can't quite grasp yet. It goes beyond us waiting for apples from  Father's oatmeal and  apple sweet. We need to be extra good I think while we wait for the surprise to arrive. But when are we not good?   So we will wait while Father is at work. And  Mother is teaching lessons. We will take care of each other while we wait for the surprise. May  your days be filled with peace my friends....

Early this morning- before the sun was up in the sky,  it was snowing very hard outside. Mother said the sun would come and melt it all away and she was right. So we all went outside to enjoy the rays of the sun.   And we enjoyed the sun on our faces when we went back inside. And we  enjoyed the snuggle on the sofa together in the cold December evenings. We will wait for brighter days and hope for treats and bones. May your days be filled with peace my friends...
