IZZY'S WORKING DAY

Image
Izabella got up early today along with Mother and  Father. We all ate breakfast and went outside a few times. Arabella was pacing the floors with excitement because she thought she was going to a show- she loves to go to shows! Mother and Father packed a big bag of snacks and treats and water bottles  and  took Izabella in the car. Ari was beside herself. "Why did they take Izzy and not me????" I tried to calm her down and assure her that it would be ok. After all- Uncle Bill was going to come and play with us! So Nera , Ari and I napped until Uncle Bill came to play with us. It was so sunny and nice out- Ari forgot all about Izzy's road trip.  When Izzy came home- she was sooooo excited! She could not talk fast enough to tell us about her adventures. She said she had to stop on the side of the road to pee and that Mother was upset because they might be late. When She got there- Auntie Jacqui and Uncle Steve and the boys were there to greet them an

WAGGING DAYS

Image
I can smell it in the air! The wet grey misty air! It feels like Spring is coming! Today was a wagging day. Moula told me about days that bring you joy and happiness are wagging days! Nera and Izzy are like two peas in a pod! They need to be touching each other all the time. Nera is so happy - she never stops smiling or wagging. We went outside when Mother was planting seeds in long black trays and the sun came out. Then it  really did feel like Spring. We were running all around the back garden when Uncle Bob came to see us! We were all wagging  so much! I could hardly stop wagging and smiling! Later on   Mother called us in and gave us special treats. We sat quietly for them but we were wagging on the inside! Izzy got a wipe down from Mother tonight- She is all ready for  her first show tomorrow. I suppose we all need "Wagging Days" every once in a while....Days  that you can't stop smiling and days that your backside is sore fro

SISTER SISTER

Image
It was one of those foggy soggy days today and Mother was very busy working and going to school and teaching- she was in and out all day. Mother put me in charge of everybody for the day.  The thing is- Izzy and Nera take care of themselves and each other. They walk through the rooms together whispering. They wrestle outside together and crash in a crate together..... When Ari came here I tried very hard to understand her puppy ways and teach her all about life. Moula did too. But with Izzy and Nera- they have known each other their whole lives and are happy just to catch up with all their news. I suppose we all have  close friends that are like sisters in our lives but there is something more when you are born together.Izzy and Nera don't know how lucky they are to be able to come  together now and then and share their separate lives together. May your days be filled with peace my friends.....

EVERYTHING AND EVERYWHERE

Just as Mother said- Nera came to stay tonight Her father brought her and her toys. Ari started barking orders to her straightaway but Izzy and I were glad to see her.  We all said our hellos and sniffed each other and played a little bit. Izzy was very  glad to play with her sister again. But Nera seemed a little uneasy.   "Where is Auntie Moula?" she asked.  I put my head down and  whispered "She had to go away." Nera did not say anything. We all waited for treats by the door and settled in for the night.  Later on Nera asked me again "But where did Auntie Moula go? Is she coming back?" "No she's not coming back." I answered quietly.   Moula is here- and there- and everywhere. She is part of the air and part of the ground and part of each one of us who loved her. And she loved us as well. She is in everything and everywhere we are. Ari and her pups I suppose Nera understood what I told her.

UNDER THE GATE

Image
Sometimes when Mother takes me for a  short walk, she lets Ari and Izzy stay outside. Every time we come back they are watching from under the gate. It was Moula who taught me and I taught Ari and she taught Izzy about watching from the gate. We push the piece of board down and lay on the bricks and just have our noses out so that we can see and  smell what is happening beyond the gate. There were worker in the house this morning, Mother said they were fixing  our water. The funny thing is none of us even barked at them. We were in the bedroom  waiting.....usually Moula would start barking when they rang the bell. Ari looked at me and I looked at her and Izzy looked at both of us- but none of us barked. Even when they came back and we were not in the bedroom- we just greeted them quietly. I know Mother was confused..... We had chewing bones after they finally left the house and the sun was trying to shine through the clouds.   Mother took eac

THE THINGS WE NEED

Image
Monday mornings are quiet, more so now that Moula is not here. We pile on Mother's bed and sleep as long as we can.  She makes the bed and it was Moula who taught us to unmake the bed. She was right as usual- It IS so much more comfy. Mother always makes sure we have everything we need- food, water, fusses. She looks after us every day and if she thinks we are not well- she takes care of that too. We don't need chewing bones and all the lovely toys and treats that are given to us. But they are things that make us happy- even for a short time and that makes a big difference in our days. Mother took me for a walk around 3rd Street. She kept saying what a good girl  I was and how nice I was walking with her. I don't need to hear it but it makes my tail wag a happy dance when I do. Mother took Izzy for a walk too. She tried to get Izzy to leave her toy at home but Izzy insisted she needed to walk with her toy in her mouth.  Mother said it was ok this time
