A DAY IN THE POOL

Image
There weren't any storms last night but at last the house was cool. Mother slept for the first time in a week. The kitchen floor felt so nice with the cool breeze from the fans. The new flowers must have liked the rain last night because they popped their heads out and smiled at the sun. It wasn't long before Mother took the cover off our special pool and we all took a dip in it's coolness. It wasn't long after we got out of the pool that  Auntie Gwen came to see us! We relaxed in the cool shade of the afternoon before the doorbell rang. It was my niece Nera and her Family!  She ran straight for us and we barked and sniffed and ran around the garden before settling down again. Mia Izzy and Ari Nera May your days be filled with peace my friends....

WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH

It was a steamy night and we panted even in our sleep. I could hear Mother tossing and turning under the fan in the bedroom. Mornings are always cooler in our house but not for long. Usually when Mia sees a squirrel out the kitchen door- she will race out to chase it. These past days we much rather stay near the whirring fans and watch the squirrel from the door's window. Even in the shade of the house early in the morning it was too darn hot to do anything but pant. And when we had enough of the heat- we all sat and stared at the the door- hoping Mother would let us in so we could sit by the fans. Father cleaned our special little pool and as soon as it was clean- Izzy jumped in and did her laps. She likes to swim with her head under the water. Mia jumped in for the very first time - on her own and swam around too. The thunder storms started around us and we had to get out of the pool and back in the house. Mia and Izzy were so tired that

HOT AND CROWDED

Mother and Father left early this morning but came back right at lunchtime. Mother was very hot and she and Father took us out to go into our little pool. It was too much for Izzy to take so she and Ari jumped into the pool with the cover still on! I waited for Mother to help me into the pool. Millie and Lottie came to play last night- Mia never met them before.  Mia still needs some help getting into the pool too.  The little pool was quite crowded when Mother and Father joined us.  Lottie just liked to roam the gardens and Millie liked to sleep under the fans in the kitchen. a We can see the balm of the bee from inside our little pool. As the sun sank lower in the sky and the pool cooled our hot paws  we settled down to rest and dry our coats. Mia followed Millie around- asking her if she wanted to play. Mia doesn't understand why Millie is so small like a puppy but she doesn't like to play. It is hot and
