Mornings With Moula

It was truly a very exciting afternoon for everyone in the house. The anticipation of going into the pool for the very first time was clearly too much. And this time,  everybody was in.,. except for my old bones.   Vikki jumped right in after her Auntie Raven and Lilibet stayed on the deck with Mama Mia. She followed me for a bit until I told her to go for  a swim. I think at first she wasn't sure, even though the day before she got her sea legs under her. She watched her favourite Auntie Izzy dive up and over her and head first into the water and so she followed. There was no stopping them. Everyone is happy in the water. And in no time at all, Lilibet was a little fish, just like me. It was a wonderful afternoon of swimming. And when enough was enough, they all got out to get towel dried by Father. Lilibet asked Mother if she could come back into the pool. But it was nearly supper time and Mother said, "There will be other days."There will be other days for sure. May yo

 Yes. It is true. I am fifteen years and five months exactly today and Mother Father and my favourite Uncle Bob and Auntie Denise took me away in the big car to go on the boat. My absolute favourite thing   to do in all the world these days. Mother said she did not think I would be on the boat after last season so everybody was extremely happy. I once again felt the lake air on my face and in my ears and on my tongue. I was extremely happy. It was a beautiful day on the lake and I am the luckiest sea dog Souris there is!!!! In the morning, the chickens let themselves out of their coop and had a grand old time eating all the bugs in the garden. It was also the day that the Littles and all of the big dogs got together to play for a bit. Supervised by Mother and Father of course. Everyone was very gentle and very calm. I was happy too. It was a lovely long weekend and now it is over. If I get on the boat again, that would be wonderful. But I have a life time of loving memories and the mem

It may not say it on the calendar but it is summer here at our house. The sun still shines and the air is warm and Mother and Father worked all day on the gardens and the pool and the boat. Cleaning and sorting and getting ready. We took it easy inside. Mother ave me a chewing bone  all to myself. Everybody but the puppies were anxiously awaiting the one thing we wait for all year. We wait for the pool  gate to open. This time though, Vikki and Lilibet  were brought out by themselves and Mother and Father taught them  how to get in and out of the pool and how to keep their heads up to swim. Vikki was first and she was very good at swimming. Lilibet was hesitant at first but then she dove into the water head first. They were hooked! They swam and jumped and swam some more. Lilibet even dove off the dock! She asked Father to go into the pool too. Vikki  swims without fear and they keep wanting to go back into the pool.
