THE ASK

Image
We have to learn to ask for what we want and what we need at a very young age. Sometimes the answer to what we ask is NO. But we should ask anyway. Darlyn asks a lot of questions and sometimes we d not have an answer for her.   Other times we will converse with each other for just the right answer. And sometimes we will have to sleep on it. Darlyn is very patient and will wait  for us to answer her asks. But she makes sure we do not forget that she is waiting. Sometimes Darlyn asks  her Auntie Raven for the chewing bone. But Raven really wants to chew..... So Darlyn gets closer- and asks again. And again. Then goes to ask her Mama Mia. Again. And again. May your days be filled with peace my friends....

WINTER IS COMING

Image
I put up with a lot these days. Oh I know I am still top dog -but it gets exhausting sometimes- dealing with all my nieces and even sometimes Ari. Darlyn is learning to give me space - but  she seems to need to be near me- always.  She has learned to get to the head of the pack in line for treats.   And she learned to ring the bells on the kitchen door to go outside. She has done this since she was eight weeks old! I really can't complain. We all get along together and that makes our little house happy inside. Winter is coming and we need to snuggle up together. May your days be filled with  peace my friends...

OUT TAKES

Image
Every year, Mother makes us dress up and take photos together. Over the years, it gets  harder and harder to find the right photo and the more puppies,  the harder  it is to get everyone together. Especially with a puppy. Some times the not so perfect photos  are more interesting and make me shake my head and smile.  And sometimes you just need to lay down and rest from all the excitement. As I thought, Mother and Father finished work and took Izzy for a car ride. Izzy was so excited she could not contain herself and grabbed a  toy ut the door to bring on her journey. Izzy  said she  went to a town down the hill and to a shop just for her. There were lots of treats and toys and the ladies gave her  treats and Father put  a very nice jumper over her head. Izzy was allowed to browse the bones and sticks and toys. And Mother let her pick a chewing bone for the ride back home. She chewed the whole way home and the only way we knew she had a chewing bone is because she smelled of yak milk!

FOURTEEN WEEKS AND GROWING

Image
Darlyn is fourteen weeks today and loving being one of the pack. She  is growing so fast that Father had to make her sleeping crates as big  as ours! Mia pretends to let Darlyn have her kong but it is just a teaching game. I think  Darlyn is teething too because She finds our best bones and chews very noisily . Izzy needed extra snuggles today so she snuggled up against me. I told Mother about it too.   We snuggled up together aainst the wild freezing wind outside. I am ready for the weekend now! May your days be filled with peace my friends.....

THE DAY TOGETHER

Image
We had a wonderful day together. The sun was shining mostly and Mother and Father were home working in the garden and the house. Then they made us sit on and around the big bed with  our bandanas around our necks to take pictures of our day together. We went outside together too. Little Darlyn is very respectful of me and I  love her for that. It was a good day to relax. And a good day to be curious too. And it was a good day to snuggle with an old friend. But mostly it was good  to spend the day together. May your days be filled with peace my friends.....

THANK FULL

Image
Mother and Father are home today, in the middle of the week and without snow on the ground- it must be Thanksgiving!  I always take a moment to think of what I am thankful for..... I am thankful for my life in this comfy home with my sister Ari and all my nieces around me. I am thankful for my comfy beds that cradle my old bones. I am thankful for all my Aunties and Uncles that come to fuss us and teach us how to be gentle- even the littlest ones. I am thankful for the kitchen mats that allow me to rest comfortably and watch the goings on. I am thankful for the kitchen door- our windows to our world outside and watching little Darlyn dream of all the adventures  she can have beyond the door. I know we are all thankful to be able to just sit and rest and dream and just be togther. And- of course- I know- we are all thankful for the chewing bone mornings we have when we have  Holidays. May your days be filled with peace my friends.....
