THANK FULL


 Mother and Father are home today, in the middle of the week and without snow on the ground- it must be Thanksgiving!  I always take a moment to think of what I am thankful for..... I am thankful for my life in this comfy home with my sister Ari and all my nieces around me. I am thankful for my comfy beds that cradle my old bones.
I am thankful for all my Aunties and Uncles that come to fuss us and teach us how to be gentle- even the littlest ones.


I am thankful for the kitchen mats that allow me to rest comfortably and watch the goings on.
I am thankful for the kitchen door- our windows to our world outside and watching little Darlyn dream of all the adventures  she can have beyond the door.

I know we are all thankful to be able to just sit and rest and dream and just be togther.


And- of course- I know- we are all thankful for the chewing bone mornings we have when we have  Holidays.

The rains are unending these days and the towels on the floor catching leaks from the skylights and catching muddy wet puppy paws are unending too. Father gives us treats and dries us off but there is not much else to do in these dreary days. I try to keep Dusty calm and happy but we are all wet and sad for the weather. MARGOT'S BIRTHDAY SURPRISE

It seemed like any other chilly morning with the sun shining bright but then in came little Margot and her mother -Auntie Julie. It was Margot's first birthday and she wanted to spend it with us. But first she had to run all around the back garden to explore because it was quite some time since her last visit. She had her birthday bandana around her neck and a smile from ear to ear as she greeted each one of us. We  chatted with Auntie too. Inside, in the warmth of the kitchen, we gathered around to see Margot get her gift. We all wanted to see the card as well because it was Mum who wrote in it. Margot took one of her presents and ran all over the house. Mia inspected the toy after Auntie took the tags away, We all took part in the play.
