SIMPLE SURPRISES










This was a special morning. Mother and Father were up early and packed their bikes on the car. Uncle Bob and Aunt Denise came   to play with us while thy were gone.

It was very hot outside today- we wished we could just stay in the pool but the house was nice too.


It  was a great surprise for Izzy when her brother Syre came over! They raced around the garden then Izzy showed Syre how to swim in the pool. He was so excited that he squealed  like a pig.


Ari and I listened from inside the house. It sounded like they were having so much fun!

Izzy would not get out of the pool- like usual. Syre just followed Izzy  around.



Izzy was sad when  Syre had to go home. She sat on the bed next to Ari and sighed.

I suppose we are all so happy when we are surprised with a visit on an otherwise  ordinary day.
And it is normal to feel a bit sad when the surprise has to end.

The rains are unending these days and the towels on the floor catching leaks from the skylights and catching muddy wet puppy paws are unending too. Father gives us treats and dries us off but there is not much else to do in these dreary days. I try to keep Dusty calm and happy but we are all wet and sad for the weather. MARGOT'S BIRTHDAY SURPRISE

It seemed like any other chilly morning with the sun shining bright but then in came little Margot and her mother -Auntie Julie. It was Margot's first birthday and she wanted to spend it with us. But first she had to run all around the back garden to explore because it was quite some time since her last visit. She had her birthday bandana around her neck and a smile from ear to ear as she greeted each one of us. We  chatted with Auntie too. Inside, in the warmth of the kitchen, we gathered around to see Margot get her gift. We all wanted to see the card as well because it was Mum who wrote in it. Margot took one of her presents and ran all over the house. Mia inspected the toy after Auntie took the tags away, We all took part in the play.
