NO TIME TO BE SAD

Image
Mama Mia was a bit sad that her baby was away at shows. The rest of us missed Dusty too. Izzy kept asking Mum to open the pool but Mum had a little surprise to cheer us up. Auntie Julie and little Margot came to cheer us up. Even Mia  got in on the fun. I was happy because Auntie always has treats. Izzy still tried to get Auntie to reopen the pool but Auntie told her the same thing s Mum and that we would have to wait for Spring to come. Margot got to work on her fetch skills and she got a good work out from all of us. The visit took our minds off of missing our Dusty  for a while anyway and we are thankful for that.  Ciao for now my friends...

DUSTY ON HER WAY

Image
We spent the night before Dusty's big road trip snuggling together. Morning seemed to come too quickly for us as Mum and Dad rushed around getting everything ready to go. Dusty said goodbye to Carnaby and Robyn and each one of us. Then relaxed a bit after chewing bones. Dusty's bag was my travel bag and Izzy's travel bag. She knew she would have to be a big girl and make us all proud of her. And of course she smelled the chewing bones and treats and all the delights to come. She was more than ready to go. Then ur little Dusty was in the car and on her way. Best of  luck to you my Stardust! Show them how bright you shine! Ciao for now my friends.....

FADING COLOURS

Image
On the day before Dusty leaves for her first road trip with out Mum and Dad, the mood is quiet and subdued a bit. like the fading colours of the tees outside. Without any rain, the colours are fadng fast. Mum gave us chewing bones all together before before Dusty left us. Dusty knows she is going away with her Aunties and has been asking me and her Auntie Izzy how it was to travel when they went on the road. I think she will have as much fun as we did way back when we were her age. But the house will be much quieter for almost a week and the fading leaves will lose even more of their colours before they fall. We will definitely miss this little girl.   Ciao for now my friends...

THE BIG PUMPKIN

Image
Mum has put a pumpkin out by the front door for as long as I can remember. Before the chickens came along, it was made of plastic. But then when the chickens came along, there is a real pumpkin and the day after Thanksgiving, the chickens get this big delicious treat. I know it is very good because Dad gives us pumpkin in our food for each meal. Even though it is closer to Thanksgiving, the air outside is like a summer day. Izzy keeps asking if we can open the pool. There has not been rain here in nearly two months. Thank goodness Mum harvested all the veggies but Dad is still getting strawberries from the patch. Mia enjoys this quiet, hot weather. Izzy, Dusty and Raven - not so much. They rather be swimming. Dusty is resting up for her big road trip tomorrow. She will be gone with her Auntie Nadine and Auntie Kathy for nearly a week! I think we will all miss this  little ray of sunshine. Especially her Mama Mia. Ciao for now my friends...

IN THE CHANGING LIGHT

Image
Dusty is resting up for her upcoming road trip to New England.  She will be away fromus for five whole days. I really don't mind my little grand daughter. She is very sweet and I catch myself wanting to take care of her like I did my Souris. Of course, she fits right into our little family and we have high hopes for her in all that she does. She is the filling in an Oreo cookie. We continue to hope for at least a little rain as all the plants have burnt to brown. Mum says it is easier to find the poop in the garden without the grass but we miss the grass. There is still joy to be had especially  because it is so sunny and warm. Raven is feeling much better now that her fur is growing back onto her skin. And Izzy stole and apple or two from Mother's bowl so she is quite pleased with herself. Mum. not so much. I am trying to enjoy myself regardless of the strange weather, I have a lot on my mind, being in charge of this family. In this changing light and changing work schedules ...
