Mornings With Moula

We are  rugged  wild wolves inside....except that we like to nap.  We love to nap. We love to nap on Mother's  bed Or on the sofas in the room with all the windows. We love to nap on the grass outside or on the green beds on the patio. We love to nap pretty much anywhere. I suppose it is good to be able to nap whenever and where ever you want to nap. I see so many people who cannot  nap when they want to nap. May  your days be filled with peace my friends...

With Nera in the house-the floors are covered  with all the toys from the big white basket in the bedroom. Mother puts them away every night and Nera takes them out. All of them. I  must  admit- I take the toys out too. Izzy just likes to take what ever toy Ari or Nera or I have at any given moment. Sometimes I just like to sit back and watch them play and steal each  other's   toys. I suppose it's better to be happy with toys  all over the floor and playing- then to be tidy and clean and sad because you are afraid to leave a mess. We all had a lie in this morning. The windows were open and the sun was shining.and Mother was out pulling the plants that did not belong in the garden. Auntie Gwen came in the morning sun to float in the pool while Mother pulled that plants. Mother said it was Auntie's birthday today. I wonder if she is old enough to have steak for her birthday like I do. It was Auntie Dolores's birthday today as well and they had a big party right over the fence from us. We had more  Aunties and Uncles in the garden today. While they talked and watched the hummingbirds dance- we ate the grasses that grown under the sage bushes. The timy little flowers were all over our backs. I suppose some days are just good as they are . May your days be filled with peace my friends......

We all had such a good day out in the sunshine. We had chewing bones while Mother  worked in the garden. We went swimming in the pool and played tug o war with the toys that are now all over the house- thanks to Nera. Nera is still so excited to be here- she treats every moment like it may be her last one here. It is pretty tiring for the rest of us - but we understand. Ari went away in the car- not once- but twice today. She did not tell me much about it but when she came back tonight- she smelled like lots of dogs and had to stay in her crate  for a long time! She was not very happy about that. We tried to cheer her up by talking to her and spending time with her in the kitxhen. I suppose it is helpful  to hang around if someone cannot join in on the fun and I suppose it is good to treat every moment like it may be your last one- especially if you  love being where you happen to be. Funny thing about the summer days. It can start out very warm and very sunny and Just like that! The thunder clouds come by and drop lots of rain on all of us. Mother and Father took us into the pool for the first time in many days. Oh I know Izzy went in by herself yesterday  but the sun was shining today and the hummingbirds  were playing in the tall red flowers that Moula used to call "Bee Balm" Izzy jumped in straightaway and I followed on the steps. but Nera was a little scared. She wanted to jump in but she was scared. Mother took her in gently and she swam around and around then jumed into Mother's arms. I think it will take her some time to not be afraid of swimming. The Thunder clouds burst open just as we were getting out of the pool. Mother said we could go swimming tomorrow when the thunder clouds are gone. I suppose we all get a little scared when we try new things- especially when we see other people enjoying it.  The thing to  d...

The sun came out today- and even though it was steamy hot- we wanted to be outside. We stayed outside just lounging in the glorious sun when we heard the door bell ring in the front of the house.. When we all went inside- There was Brownie! He came to stay for the day. Nera started to play with him- and just like Pippa- would not let hi alone. He did not mind I think because his tail was wagging and he played with Nera until they were both very tired. They became fast  friends- just like Ari and me. Nera has to touch Brownie to let him know that she's his friend. And if Nera is not playing with Brownie- she is playing with Izzy or her Mother- Ari. I suppose It is rare to make Fast friends. Mother says children and puppies can make fast friends-- and they do it all the time. I don't know why it should be so hard for older folks to make friends. I make friends with everybody. We all had to stay inside again today. The rain was heavy- even the groundhog did not come out from wherever he hides. Izzy and Nera would steal each other's toys then kiss and make up. Ari took care of Izzy when she was sad because of the rain. And then she came and took care of me- just because...... I suppose we should all take care of each other. - Whether  you are family or not.... Everything would be much better if we all took care of each other. Another day of rain- then sun- then rain - then sun and steamy air all around us. Moula always said that rain is good- unless there is too much of it. She said that rain washed away everything that was bad- and sometimes it washed away the things that are good too. I think the rain is true.  Rain has no need to lie or cheat or take my chewing bones. When the rain falls- it does not try to make you feel bad. The rain does not blame you for getting wet and shaking it off  all over the kitchen floor. The rain does not change it's mind for no reason. It is not there to torture us. It  rains to feed the earth. And some science thing that makes it happen..... We care that the rain stops so we can go outside and chase the groundhog who showed up in the garden - in the rain. There is music in the rain. It taps a rhythm on the roof of the house as we nap. I suppose some people will never understand the rain because they do not care. They will co...
